Letter from our Founders

Dear Friends,

We would like to take this opportunity, once again, to thank-you for your generosity and support of Akron Children’s Hospital and Wine & Wishes. It’s been five years since the inaugural event. Since we embarked on our crusade to aid the efforts of the wonderful and caring staff at Children’s Hospital, your generous support has allowed us to raise over $400,000.00. Words cannot express our gratitude for the overwhelming success of these events. Our desire to give-back to Children’s Hospital would not be possible without the effort and commitment of all of our Wine & Wishes volunteers and our great sponsors Giant Eagle,  WNIR, Montrose Auto Group and Thomas’ English Muffins. It’s important to understand that because of these caring individuals and corporations, 100% of all money raised is donated to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Akron Children’s Hospital has a very special meaning to Us. Our twins, Katie and Cory, were born at 26 weeks; Katie weighing only 1 lb. 12 oz. and Cory was 2 lbs. 2 oz. they both suffered from numerous complications at birth and were immediately taken to ACH. During the next 18 weeks of hospital care, we received and witnessed the care and understanding from doctors, nurses and staff that will be remembered every time we look at Katie and Cory. Children’s Hospital is a facility that you don’t appreciate until it saves your child’s life.
